UK Leasing Financial Controller Based: Home Counties
Salary – c £75,000 + Benefits
Our client requires a Financial Controller to be responsible for the overall management of the UK Leasing Accounting department. You will ensure Compliance with all Statutory Accounting Rules, US GAAP and Regulatory reporting while working closely with the local Finance Director to ensure that any issues are highlighted and resolved in a timely manner. Assist with system implementations.
Responsibilities include:
-Motivate, lead and develop a 14 strong finance team, setting measurable objectives, conducting regular reviews and ensuring that development and career plans are in place.
-Produce US GAAP accounts on a monthly basis within the timetables set by the US.
-Internal Control compliance.
-Prepare a month end pack including analysis against plan and outlook.
-Review all Balance Sheet accounts on either a monthly or quarterly basis and certify that they are reconciled.
-Ensure that cash is allocated on a daily basis highlighting any unallocated cash at month end.
-Work as part of a project team on implementing new systems including Lease Accounting and General Ledger systems.
-Ensure fees are paid to the Company’s partners/concessionaires by the contract date.
-Lead Planning and Control analysing the leasing portfolio for Yields/Gross Profit, reporting on any variances against plan.
-Work with the Marketing group providing lease marketing reporting as requested.
-Ensure sales commissions are calculated against targets and paid accordingly.
-Bad Debt control and booking.
-Other adhoc duties and reporting as assigned.
Candidates will have the following experience and background:
-Appropriate accounting professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
-Lease accounting experience is essential.
-Similar role in US leasing organisation preferred.
-Must have previous management experience with proven skills including ability to recruit, train, motivate and provide performance development support.
-Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and delegate where necessary.
-Strong communication interpersonal skills to encourage working in a team environment, willing to encourage and lead change as the marketplace and other factors require.
UK Leasing Chief Accountant Based: Home Counties
Salary – c £55,000 + Bens
Our client requires a Chief Accountant to co-ordinate and manage the activities of their Lease Accounting and Treasury operations Group, ensuring that the accounting records accurately reflect the true financial status of the business for management and statutory reporting purposes and complies with relevant controls processes. Responsibilities include:
-Provide support to Financial Controller in particular with regard to Accounting, Control, Taxation, System and Personnel issues.
-Preparation of monthly USGAAP Financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with the reporting timetable.
-Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.
-Provide support, counsel and development opportunities to direct reports; and to ensure sufficient ‘backfill’ experience is held within the group.
-Ensure compliance with Internal Controls.
-Review systems/record processes and make appropriate revisions to take account of current conditions and requirements i.e. the reporting, reconciliation and investigation, Treasury operations and Funding processes.
-Ensure effective communication is maintained both internally e.g. Financial Controller and direct reports together with other group companies, Auditors, Banks, HMRC and Finance Lease Association etc.
-Ensure that the accounting records are accurately and promptly updated.
-Analyse/monitor the adequacy of Balance Sheet provisions and propose appropriate actions.
-Co-ordinate the preparation of the statutory accounts, provide lease portfolio information for preparation of CT computations by internal tax group, and quarterly information for the completion of VAT returns.
-Ensure the Group’s delivery of negotiated requirements of internal and external customers.
-Undertake as directed ad-hoc projects, investigations & analysis.
Candidates will have the following experience and background:
-At least 3 years’ background post qualification accounting experience.
-Minimum 3 years’ financial accounting experience.
-Previous management experience is a must.
-Must have Lease Accounting experience.
-Preference for Treasury Operations experience.
-Strong preference for internal or external audit experience.
-MS Access knowledge desirable, but not essential
-Practical knowledge of relevant accounting standards and practices including SSAP21, FRS5, FASB13, SORPS etc.
